Alcohol-free wines are not just a fad, but rather a new alternative. Alcohol-free makes sense for a variety of reasons:
Non-alcoholic wines are not fruit juices but rather regular wine made from the same premium grapes as alcoholic wines . The only difference is the alcohol is removed. Initially the grapes are aged and fermented in barrells. Before the wine is bottled the alcohol is filtered out through a cold filtration process De-Alcoholized wines have come a long way since their inception in the early 1980's. Many have gained recognition from leading wine critics and connoisseurs alike. They have been awarded Gold Medals at County Fairs and numerous awards in competitions against alcoholic and non-alcoholic wines through out the world. Ariel Vineyards -- Produces de-alcoholized wines and has gained recognition from leading wine critics when their ARIEL Blanc wine was awarded the Gold Medal at the Los Angeles County Fair in 1986 in a blind tasting against wines with alcohol.
